Huddle Appoints Morten Brøgger as New Chief Executive Officer

29 January 2015

Huddle, the enterprise cloud collaboration service, today announced that it has appointed Morten Brøgger as its new Chief Executive Officer. With 20 years of experience in the technology industry and a decade of experience bringing innovative cloud-based services to market, Brøgger will build upon Huddle’s leadership position in cloud collaboration and impressive enterprise and government credentials to further accelerate growth. As well as strengthening Huddle’s business activities in its established markets, Brøgger will also drive the company’s expansion into new territories in 2015. Huddle’s co-founder and current CEO, Alastair Mitchell, announced his new roles of President and CMO, focusing his efforts on scaling Huddle’s global brand and market impact.

Brøgger’s appointment follows the closure of Huddle’s $51 million Series D round of funding at the end of 2014 and a year of significant growth for the business. Sales to enterprise customers tripled in the first three quarters of 2014 over the same period in 2013 and the company secured seven of its ten biggest contracts to date in the same time frame.

“As Huddle starts on the next phase of its journey, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to bring someone of Morten’s caliber on board to strengthen the already exceptional team we’ve built,” said Mitchell. “Morten has a proven ability to drive significant innovation and growth, and deliver results. His skills and experience will enable us to capitalize on the incredible position we have built as a pioneer and leader in the cloud collaboration space over the past years and continue to grow exponentially. We’re looking forward to achieving our vision of enabling teams across the globe to share and work together on content to achieve their goals.”

“I am excited to have the opportunity to lead Huddle’s impressive and highly motivated team. Everyone is dedicated to bringing effective collaboration to organizations worldwide and it’s wonderful to join them on this mission,” said Brøgger. “Being Software-as-a-Service, Huddle represents the future of enterprise software and was an early pioneer and leader in the cloud collaboration space. Rather than focus on simple file synchronization and sharing, which is now a low value commodity, Huddle has differentiated itself by focusing on collaboration and solving the real issue faced by enterprises: working together effectively. This stands Huddle in good stead for the years ahead and I’m keen to take the helm as we accelerate our growth and become the undisputed cloud collaboration leader. We, as well as our customers, are facing an exciting future.”

Brøgger will be based in San Francisco and brings extensive go-to-market and SaaS expertise to his new role, spanning the US and European markets. As CEO of MACH, Brøgger led its growth and subsequent sale to Syniverse in 2013 for $715 million, and subsequently served as Chief Sales Officer for the combined business globally. In his role at MACH, Brøgger brought new cloud services to market, accelerated business into adjacent markets and achieved the highest customer and employee satisfaction in the history of the company.  Brøgger’s previous experience includes leadership roles at Sunrise Switzerland, TDC Denmark and ATEA. He holds a M.A. degree from Aarhus University’s Business School in International Marketing Management.
